Malvika Jolly was the winner of the 2025 Alice James Award. Her poems are featured in Columbia Journal, Four Way Review, Poet Lore, West Branch, and elsewhere, and performed on stages including The Asian American Writers’ Workshop, The Guggenheim, Joe’s Pub, The New York Foundation for the Arts, Poetry Society of New York, Poets House, Queens College, St. Ann’s Church, The South Street Seaport Museum, and The Stadler Center.
She is the recipient of fellowships from Bread Loaf, Community of Writers, and The Watering Hole, and received her M.F.A. from New York University, where she taught in the undergraduate writing program. She is the web editor for Washington Square Review and runs the poetry reading series The New Third World.
Previously, she programmed and produced events for the Brooklyn Rail, copyedited and fact-checked for Chicago magazine, and reported arts and culture for the South Side Weekly.
